The Zagat Guide recently released its 6th Edition of “America’s Top Golf Courses.” The Penn National Resort Community’s two courses— the Founders Course and the Iron Forge Course—were among the most highly rated courses in Pennsylvania, and in the entire Mid-Atlantic Region. The Guide ranked the Founders Course as the 4th best in Pennsylvania with a course rating of 27 out of 30 and a value rating of 26 out of 30. The Iron Forge Course had a course rating of 25 and a value rating of 25. These ratings placed both courses in the Top 10 in both the State rankings and the Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings, which included Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. The Penn National courses ranked #1 in Value when compared to all the Top 10-rated Mid-Atlantic courses.
The Zagat Guide is based on the experiences of 6,054 avid golfers who played an average of 8.8 rounds per month. The survey covers 1,149 of the top public, semi-private and resort layouts, as well as urban driving ranges and the leading private courses.
